Baby black bird ,Bird baby Help !!?

The mother birds cover there babies food in a milky mucus before feeding there baby's for nutrition AND to make it easy for the bird to swallow. This bird probably is having a hard time eating that food without the mucus. Try strawberries that are cut up very very small. smaller then pencil eraser.
