I'm a single 41 year old father and I think my 16 year old son might be gay. Did I cause this?

you didn't do anything wrong, we don't choose to be gay, it just happens, its rather hard to explain unless you are yourself. but you should be there for him and let him know you know and that your ok with it, trust me he is probably killing himself inside from the stress that you'll find out.
